Acrylic is a strong, stiff and durable thermoplastic (but can be brittle in small sections), it is an ideal solution for many projects. As a thermoplastic it can be heated and shaped many times (e.g. if futher processing is required).
Finishing
Acrylic has a mirror like finish that does not require further processing.
Cutting Edges / Cleaning
Laser cutting provides a mirror like cut edge that typically does not require further processing. Protective cover is applied to the face of the acrylic when cutting (and shipping) to protect from scratches.
When engraving is required we may need to remove the protective film (on the top/engraving face) for processing, ths will leave some reside that may require removal on receipt, please see our cleaning guide.
Cutting Offsets (kerf width / laser cut line width)
1-3mm thick material = approx. 0.15mm
4-6mm thick material = approx. 0.20mm
