CNC plasma cutter hire at our workshop near Bristol. Typical availability 9am to 6pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays (some evenings and Sundays available upon request).
Minimum booking 1 hour. Hourly rate reduces for bulk orders, please refer to quantity discounts.
What does the cost include ?
- 30 minutes of training provided on your first visit to explain use of the plasma, settings and software.
- Sole use of our 45 Amp plasma cutter (Swift-Cut 1250), cutting area of 1250mm x 1250mm.
- CAD workstation, with basic CAD software (DraftSight), we recommend wokring in DXF format only (this can be exported from Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw).
- Free internet access including facility to plug in your own laptop (if required).
- Access to TV, Fridge and complimentary Tea and Coffee facilities.

Q. I'm not sure how long I will need?
A. We are happy to invoice (after your visit) on a pro rata basis, simply contact us about your requirement and preferred date of visit.
Q. Can I bring my own materials?
A. Yes, but please ensure they are suitable for plasma cutting (e.g. aluminium, brass, steel [conductive]). Pleae bring extra material as we may need to determine optimum settings for your material.
Q. What thickness can i cut?
A. It varies greatly based on material, mild steel up to 10mm, aluminium 6mm (please email for more materials / details).
Q. Why plasma, is it as clean a cut as laser?
A. Plasma cutting offers affordable CNC cutting of heavy guage metal. The finish of plasma cutting has greatly improved over the past decade but should not be confused with laser cutting that will provide significantly reduced dross and cleaner cut edges. Please refer to our example images to show the quality of finish that can be achieved by plasma.
